Look back on any school year

Your classroom's story no longer resets every autumn. Nessa now keeps each school year's records side by side — and lets you step back in time.

  • Browse past school years. Tap the year above your classroom name to revisit a previous year. Past years appear in calm grayscale and are read-only, so you always know when you are — and nothing historical can be changed by accident.
  • Every child's journey, year by year. Student profiles now have year chips, so you can flip between a child's years. Children who have moved on stay with their old class, exactly as that year really was.
  • Smoother, faster student profiles — opening and closing a child's page feels noticeably snappier, even with a long history of observations.
  • Ask Nessa got more attentive. Start a note, answer her follow-up question, and she finishes saving it properly. And if you mention a name that isn't in your class, she tells you right away instead of failing later.
  • Small fixes: student initials display correctly when a child has no last name, the student picker holds still while you're selecting, and when the AI is momentarily busy you get one calm message instead of a confusing error.

Students carry over, year after year

Montessori classrooms don't start from scratch each year — most children continue. Now Nessa works the same way.

  • "Who's coming back?" When a new school year begins, everyone is assumed to be returning — you just tap the few who are moving on, with a note of why (graduated, moved away, transferred). Their records are preserved, never deleted.
  • Past students — a gentle list of children who've moved on, with one-tap restore if someone returns.
  • Your calendar, not ours. Choose the month your school year starts in Settings — September, January, or anything else. Nessa also offers a friendly nudge as the year winds down.
  • Fix: exporting and importing your data on iOS works reliably again.

Newsletters on your schedule

A batch of quality-of-life improvements shaped by early tester feedback.

  • Newsletter cycles are yours to control. Instead of resetting weekly, your newsletter notes now stay until you choose to start a new cycle — perfect for fortnightly or monthly rhythms.
  • Weekend-aware planning — plan on a Saturday and "this week" sensibly means the week starting Monday.
  • Simpler password reset — an 8-digit code by email, no fiddly links.
  • The guided tour grew — it now walks new teachers through planning a lesson and recording what they observed.

The full curriculum, in your pocket

The biggest month in Nessa's young life — the curriculum library grew to nine albums and lesson planning arrived.

  • Nine curriculum albums, 325 activities. Botany, Zoology, Physical Science, and Earth Science joined Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Geography — each with full presentations, materials, and aims, browsable in the Lessons tab.
  • Weekly lesson planning. Plan lessons for the whole class or individual children, check them off as you present, and record an observation straight from a planned lesson.
  • My Lessons — add your own short lessons alongside the curriculum and plan them the same way.
  • Ask Nessa answers from your curriculum first — ask about a material and she surfaces the matching album lessons before suggesting fresh ideas, clearly labeled.
  • Photos on observations — attach up to four photos to any observation, stored privately.
